This is an unconventional romantic comedy that stars Jeff Garlin as James an overweight Chicago actor and comedian who still lives with his mother who feeds him low calorie foods. There are three reasons why he still lives with his mother: he hasn't found the right girl, he hasn't found a great acting job and to he needs to lose weight. Unfortunately, he's 0 for 3. In the course of one day his girlfriend dumps him, he loses the title role in a remake of Paddy Chayefsky's Marty to a teen idol, and he sneaks out of an Overeaters Anonymous meeting only to wind up at an ice cream parlor. There the women behind the counter taunt him with ice cream with an assumption of having sex with him, but only in jest and telling him that they don't sleep with fat guys. But to his surprise he meets a sexually liberated woman named Beth (Sarah Silverman) who quickly wins his heart. Will this cause James more problems? With all the ups and downs in his life, he stays positive with the help of his routine run to the food mart where he loads up on snacks from his buddy and store owner Dick (Dan Castellaneta).

There's no doubt that Sarah Silverman's star is on the rise. From stand-up comedy to film and television, she has seen her share of success. Jeff Garlin's unique comedy which is seen on HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm has spark the series to win numerous awards, such as the Golden Globe Award for Best Comedy. The theme of the plot in this movie is similar to the Seinfeld style of quick and spontaneous humor. It does a really good job in cranking out the jokes. And finally, the strong supporting performances from the Second City Comedy Improv Group, Bonnie Hunt, Amy Sedaris and Joey Slotnick makes this indie film a very funny romp.
