Since 1963, The New York Film Festival has continued to bring new and important cinematic works by filmmakers from around the world. The festival includes Main Slate selections along with special events, panel discussions, the experimental film showcase Views from the Avant-Garde, and much more.

The 17-day New York Film Festival (NYFF-2010) highlights the best in world cinema, featuring top films from celebrated filmmakers as well as fresh new talent. The selections' Main Slate includes:

OPENING NIGHT FILM
The Social Network - Columbia Pictures (World Premiere)
David Fincher directs a scintillating, play-by-play account of the meteoric rise and acrimonious fall of the founders of Facebook.

CENTERPIECE FILM
The Tempest - Touchstone Pictures (North American Premiere)
Helen Mirren leads an extraordinary, all-star cast in Julie Taymor's brilliantly inventive rendering of Shakespeare's mystical romance.

CLOSING NIGHT FILM
Hereafter - Warner Bros. Pictures (U.S. Premiere)
The possibility of communicating with the dead is the surprising subject of this enormously emotional work from director Clint Eastwood.

Many of the films will be up for Academy Award consideration and I will have previews and reviews of my selections.
