7th ANNUAL 2008 TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL WRAP-UP
This year's festival included 121 features and 79 shorts from 41 countries. More than $150,000 was handed out in cash prizes. The following are the awards and their winners:
CADILLAC (AUDIENCE) WINNER;
WAR CHILD, is a documentary directed by C. Karin Chrobog that tells the story of hip-hop artist Emmanuel Jal, a veteran of the 20 year civil war in southern Sudan. The filmmaker follows Jal and his lyrics of the "Lost Boys" of the Sudan. Jal who left his devastated home in 1987 was reunited with family, including the father who summoned him to war and then abandoned him. His journey (still in progress) was to reconnect with those people in the U.N. refugee camps and call to action advocacy for the building of school in his home village, provide education and love. Jal uses his music and this movie to raise awareness about the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Sudan and the plight of child soldiers thoughout the world.

BEST ACTRESS IN A NARRATIVE FEATURE FILM;
Eileen Walsh in EDEN, directed by Declan Recks (Ireland).
BEST DOCUMENTARY FEATURE;
PRAY THE DEVIL BACK TO HELL, directed by Gini Reticker (USA).
BEST NEW DOCUMENTARY FILMMAKER;
OLD MAN BEBO, directed by Carlos Carcas (Spain).
NEW YORK LOVES FILM;
ZONED IN, directed by Daniela Zanotta (USA).
MADE IN N.Y. NARRATIVE;
THE CALLER, directed by Richard Ledes (USA).
