Artistic Statement

"THE FLIGHT" was a play on word, flight sounds like fright. This film is my second student film.

With this film the production time was five weeks, it was a minor project leading up to the major project in AIM (Animation and Interactive) Master course RMIT University.

The animation was created with a raw feeling I have, I got the feeling from year 2005 when I travel back to my home country to attend my grandma's funeral.

With the drawing style that can express emotions such as shock and horror, I uses the rush of my drawing skill apply into animation.

I choose the violin as the base for the film, it gives the extra edge to the narrator. Music thanks to James Hodson and Voice Narrator Patrick Kelleher

The film was originally written as a serious piece with more twist, but unfortunately the time frame I was given, I have to abandon those plots enable to make the deadline, ultimately the whole animation was done within a week, but colors and scanning eat out the rest of time.

Finally I did like to thanks to my mentor a Stop-motion animator Craig Ross, without him I wouldn't be where I am today.
