Director Biography
Keith Tassick has been making short films and videos for the past 15 years or so, but has only taken it seriously in the past few. His first documentary Censorship Is Not Very Nice earned him an F in his high school communications class. After high school, a few film classes, and a many wasted years living in Boston, MA, Keith returned to his hometown of Pittsburgh and began work on an acclaimed public access television show called The Art of News. The show featured local art and political news with humor, documentary, bizarre video montages.
After deciding that public access wasn’t really his bag, Keith started making short experimental videos and documentaries. Hisdocumentary Negative Douglas placed third in the Three Rivers Film Festival of 2006 and has screened at Pittsburgh Film Kitchen and the American Shorts Reading Series. The short Big D*ck P*ssy was also screened at Pittsburgh Film Kitchen, Jefferson Presents, and was featured in the zine Encyclopedia Destructica.
Most recently, Keith produced works for The Pittsburgh Creative Commons Film Festival, Film Kitchen, and videos for the groups Centipede E’est, David Bernabo, and Gangwish. He is currently producing a work to be screened as part of the biennial celebration for The Pittsburgh Center for the Arts. That technically makes him artist.
