
Paul St. Amand

Paul St.Amand made his directing debut with the 2006 short documentary Parallels. The film premiered at the Vancouver International Film Festival, and went on to screen at festivals across North America. Parallels won Best Documentary at the 2007 BC Student Film Festival, received the Canadian Reflections Award at the 2007 Air Canada EnRoute Film Festival, and was nominated for a Golden Sheaf award at the 2007 Yorkton Short Film & Video Festival.
Paul then directed the sci-fi short Grover's Mill, which was a multiple award-winner at the Vancouver Student Film Festival, a selection of the YoungCuts Film Festival, and was featured on CBC's Exposure. For his work on Parallels and Grover's Mill, Paul received the Lenhoff & Lenhoff Award for Best Director at Vancouver Film School in 2006. Paul's other credits include the short drama One Last Thing, and producing of the French-language short Alibi Inc.
A native of Bedford, Nova Scotia, Paul is a graduate of Vancouver Film School and received a bachelor's degree in Commerce from Dalhousie University. He also studied journalism at the University of King's College. Before starting his career as a filmmaker, he worked as a writer and graphic designer.
