JASON D. ASHBERG - DIRECTOR

Jason D. Ashberg was born in Johannesburg, South Africa on December 19th 1974.

Since an early age, he’s been interested in all art forms. He’s studied the drums, music, acting, and film directing as well as performing as an actor in plays and playing drums in live performances. Jason has always been fascinated with the art of filmmaking as a Director. Realizing that it would be the ultimate form of expression for himself, he decided to pursue a career as a film Director.

In 1997 Jason graduated, after 3 years, with a Diploma in Film Production from the South African School of Film, Television and Dramatic Art (AFDA), where he directed a number of short films, music videos and commercials. One such TV commercial won a student Silver Loerie and an American Clio Award. His final year short film earned him the Best Director Nomination from the School as well as being nominated at The Newcomers Competition for best short film held at the 1998 Sithengi film market.

Since then, Jason has directing numerous projects of different types and genres.
Jason is now based in the United States where he continues to collaborate with writers on short and feature film proposals, screenplays and projects that are currently at different stages of development.
