Summary:
Music Video for the song entitled Sweet Possession released on Elu's Beautiful Things album 2007.
About the Video
The song “Sweet Possession” was written and arranged by the New Age Pop group Élu. The video was produced and directed by Jeffrey Mettling, founding member and creative energy behind the musical group Élu. The video was made to enhance the bands image and provide promotion for the independent musical group as a whole.
The video was produced on a shoe string budget. Approximate cost of the project was $500 which included, lighting rental, film, food and a little something for the performers in the video. While the video was shot on a shoe string, the locations were donated and included the Old Phillip’s semi-conductor plant. A large warehouse type room was provided for the band right across the hall from the Albuquerque set for Jessica Alba’s new movie “The Eye”. Additional locations included Albuquerque Down Town and Marble Street Studio.
We used two videographers for the film. Danny Winn and long time friend of Jeff’s runs his own video company and shoots commercials and video for the UFC as well as being an independent musical artist. Danny is best known for his musical project “Danny Winn and the Earthlings” a ska band. Danny’s song “Rejected” is being featured in the Michael Moore film Sicko. The second videographer was another long time friend Marcelo Olivares, a mechanical designer by day, jack of all trades by night. Makeup was provided by Sara Roybal of Images by Vladmira.
Extra’s for the film included drummer Scott Columbo of the musical group Catfish Hunter, Bassist Crystal Sims from the group Polaroid Pornography and owner of Evolution Body Piercing in Albuquerque. The other people in the video are actual members of Élu. They include Jeffrey Mettling on guitar, DeeAnn Gonzales on vocals and Ginny Olivas on keyboards.
